Minutes for meeting held on  August 13, 2011

August meeting called to Order by President Curtis Addison at 9:26 A.M. 

 Location of meeting: Miners Grubstake in Atlantic City.

Introduction of Members and Guests. 41 were present.

Minutes of July meeting read. Paula Jones made the motion to accept the minutes as read. Motion seconded by George Vandel. Motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report read. Rosemary Blair made motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report. The motion was seconded by Les Armstrong and the motion passed.

Communications:

Deb Palmer reported she had received the Quit Claim Deed for the Amanda 26 claim.

Deb read letter from Atlantic City Historical Society. They will have a tour at the Carrissa Mine on August 27th at 11:30. Dress for walking and bring a sack lunch.

Deb Palmer read a portion of notice from BLM on Dredging and the new requirements.

Claims Committee report:

Corette Drake reported she filed the papers at the Court House and also covered some on the New Dredging requirements.

Owners on the Little Beaver claim need to designate an Agent for the claim. Must be done and filed before Aug. 31st . Call Cheyenne BLM.

Bruce Drake has been checking corner stakes.

Kim Raymond reported someone has been damming up water and undercutting the bank under trees. If this is done BLM can close us down.

Randy Hutchison said that Bruce needs to be reimbursed for expenses incurred while he is traveling to work on the claim stakes. The club members agreed and told him to keep a record of his expenses and mileage.

Larry Mathews offered a meeting room at the Church of Christ for our winter meetings.
Corette Drake made a motion to accept Larry’s offer and hold the meetings at the Church of Christ. Deb Palmer seconded and motion passed.

Paula Jones reported she is almost finished with the up-date of the membership. If there is anyone who knows of someone who has not received their cards and or packet please let us know.

Kim Raymond made a motion to appoint a contact person. Randy Hutchison seconded and motion passed.

Bruce Drake made a motion to make Paula Jones and Deb Palmer the contact persons.  Randy Hutchison seconded and the motion passed.

Discussion followed and there was a problem of everyone Web wide having access to their phone numbers. Following the discussion, Bruce Drake made a motion to put Paula Jones’s and Deb Palmer’s phone numbers on the bottom of the page of the meeting and motion passed. minutes. Phone numbers to be on minutes only, not on the Web Page. Randy seconded

A question was raised as to what the club wanted to do with the 3” dredge, discussion followed. It was decided by general consensus to have a sealed bid sale with the bids to be opened at the next meeting  correction bids to be opened at the Nov. meeting

It was suggested we reinstitute the “for sale page” on the Web Site.  Keith Blair said he would do so. All pictures should be in JPG format.
If individuals want to they can send flyers to Paula Jones if they have something to sell and she will include them with the minutes when they go out to all the members. Send enough flyers for all of the members (approximately 150), the Club will not print them for you.

Randy Hutchison made a motion to send a copy of the new Rules from the BLM with the minutes. Les Armstrong seconded and the motion passed.

It was decided to have the next meeting at the Miners Grubstake on September 10th. Meeting will be at 8:00 A.M. with breakfast to follow the meeting. Please RSVP so the Grubstake will have a head count. Outing will be at Amanda 26 following the meeting.

50-50 raffle was won by Aaron Raymond.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned

Regular raffle followed the meeting and a good time was had by all.
